Frequently Asked Questions

Everything you need to know about working with a freight dispatcher.

What does a freight dispatcher do?

A freight dispatcher works for the carrier (truck owner) to find high-paying freight, negotiate rates with brokers, manage paperwork, and streamline daily operations. Unlike a broker, who represents the shipper, a dispatcher represents you.

How much does a truck dispatcher charge?

Most dispatchers charge a percentage of each load's gross revenue. Truck Dispatching Pro charges a simple 4% flat fee per load, with no subscription, no setup fee, and no hidden charges.

What documents do I need to sign up?

You'll need your MC/DOT number, Certificate of Insurance (COI), W-9 form, and a signed Dispatcher-Carrier Agreement. If you use factoring, we'll also set up a Notice of Assignment (NOA) and a Limited Power of Attorney.

Do I have to take every load the dispatcher finds?

No. You approve every load before it's booked. There is no forced dispatch at Truck Dispatching Pro.

How do I get paid?

You're paid directly by the broker or your factoring company. We handle invoicing and can coordinate quick-pay or factoring so you get paid in days instead of waiting 30–45 days.

What is a freight broker vs. a dispatcher?

A broker represents the shipper and sells the load. A dispatcher works for the carrier — finding freight, negotiating your rate, and protecting your bottom line. See the full comparison.

Which equipment types do you dispatch?

We dispatch dry van, reefer, flatbed, step deck, and power only. Contact us if you run a different equipment type.
